Sentinel K9 and Lobo K9 Help Save 20+ Dogs From Bonham Shelter

Sentinel K9 had only been open in Argyle for a month when the call came in.

It wasn’t a scheduled training client or a routine request — it was urgent. A shelter situation in Bonham, Texas had become critical, and more than 20 dogs needed immediate help.

The call came through Cody’s Rescue in Dallas, reaching one of Sentinel K9’s residency trainers, Isaiah, who is part of the company’s Trainer Residency Program. Isaiah had just moved into the Sentinel K9 facility in Argyle when he was contacted and asked if he could help with an emergency transfer.

Within hours, Sentinel K9 mobilized.

Working alongside Lobo K9 and two rescue organizations, the team helped safely transport and relocate over 20 dogs out of the Bonham shelter and into rescue care. For everyone involved, it wasn’t just a transport job — it was a moment where timing mattered, and where quick action made the difference between tragedy and a second chance.

Now, Sentinel K9 has taken its involvement even further.

The organization is currently fully sponsoring these rescues, along with directly supporting two rehoming dogs, Zeus and Bruno, as they work toward stable placements and permanent homes.

While the rescues are doing the hard work of intake and placement, Sentinel K9 is asking the community for help to keep the support going.

And donations don’t have to be monetary.

Supplies like crates, dog food, toys, treats, leashes, collars, beds, and cleaning supplies all directly support the dogs being sponsored. Every donated item helps reduce the day-to-day burden of rescue work and allows more resources to go toward medical care, rehabilitation, and placement.

For Sentinel K9, this rescue mission has become something bigger than an unexpected first-month challenge.

It’s become part of their purpose.
